Lalandia is among the most environmentally-responsible holiday centres in Denmark. Its management have therefore decided to fulfil the requirements of the international tourism environmental brand “The Green Key”.
This is an environmental certificate that requires companies to fulfil a comprehensive programme of resource savings and environmental considerations. Maintaining the right to “The Green Key” involves annual inspection visits by impartial environmental inspectors and compliance with the environmental program’s 55 criteria.
The regular inspection covers limits on the consumption of water, energy, cleaning products, herbicides and disposable cups/glasses. Checks are also made as to whether all waste is environmentally sorted. An important requirement for environmental certification is whether non-smoking houses/areas are available and organic products are offered in restaurants and shops. A five-member environment group at the Lalandia tropical holiday centre continuously ensures that the requirements for “The Green Key” are still being met.
“The Green Key” is, in other words, a guarantee for our guests that they have chosen a tropical holiday centre and holiday home in Denmark of the highest quality, and where a principled decision has been taken to show consideration for the environment.
Water quality in Aquadome™
In the summer of 2008, Lalandia implemented a brand-new and ground-breaking water purification system, which means that the chlorine content of the bathing water is now
50 % less!
The new system is also particularly environmentally-friendly, as energy and water consumption have been reduced significantly.
