Your application

Useful advice for your application

Before you sit down in front of your computer, bear in mind that your application is the first impression we will get of you. If you make an effort with your application, you will have a much better chance of joining our team.

If you apply as a young worker or on call employee, you should primarily outline your strong points, any experience from previous jobs and why you would like to work at Lalandia.

Write a clear application, and try to keep it to one page as far as possible.

Tell us briefly why you’re the right person for this particular job.

Create a strong, logical connection between your experience and qualifications, and the duties and requirements specified in the job advertisement.

Always attach your CV – and make sure it is clearly laid out. A good CV contains all your personal information: name, address, telephone number, etc. Then you should write about your education and your experience, divided up into your previous jobs with the most recent at the top.

If you have any questions about the job advertisement, call the contact person in the advertisement. There is no reason to make a mistake with your application due to a small misunderstanding, when you could have cleared the matter up in a few minutes on the phone.

Attachments

Remember to attach any relevant supporting documents to your application:

  • Picture (passport photo)
  • A recently issued criminal record check
  • Relevant recommendations and references

If you have any questions, please feel free to write to the HR department in Billund HR-Billund@lalandia.dk or in Rødby HR@lalandia.dk

Make a speculative application

If you cannot see any vacancies that suit you, you are welcome to send a speculative application. You can apply to us speculatively by applying for either the “speculative hourly rate” or “speculative administration” vacancies. Your application will then remain in our job bank for 6 months, and during this period if we need an employee with your qualifications, we will contact you. If you would like continue to be registered in the job bank after the 6 months, you will need to apply again.

Good luck with your job application.

Values and employee policy

Accountability

A large part of our culture and values are about being socially responsible. In other words, we must be able to accommodate each other and our differences, among both customers and colleagues. In this way, we are good hosts and create a working environment in accordance with our values. Therefore, you will find that our staff are friendly, attentive, positive and active.

Well-being is highly valued

Here at Lalandia, we are very conscious that it is our staff above all that make the difference, and that create great experiences for our guests. That’s why it’s important our employees are happy. We look at the well-being of our employees every year via well-being surveys, which we always follow up on with various initiatives to ensure good well-being.

We maintain a good, unpretentious tone and have honest and open dialogue between managers and employees, with an emphasis on ensuring that everyone is consulted and involved. We also focus on the importance of a complimentary and appreciative culture – in short, we must do each other good!

Organisation

We have a relatively flat organisational structure, and you are welcome to stop the centre director when you meet him if you have suggestions, criticism, a question, etc. We also have various official forums where this is possible.

Socialising

Employees have scope for a lot of socialising with colleagues across the entire company. There are various events throughout the year, some only for employees and others for both employees and their families. Examples of events include the carnival party, Christmas party, sports tournaments, wellness evenings, theatre trips and wine tastings. These things are also instrumental in creating a terrific team spirit at Lalandia.

HR policy

Our employee policy supports the mission and vision at Lalandia by, among other things, focusing on:

Attracting and retaining qualified employees:

  • Who like working with people, being a host to our guests and providing good service.
  • Who smile, are extrovert, helpful and accommodating.
  • Who want to take responsibility, and who can think for themselves.

That within the company we:

  • Create a good framework for cooperation and well-being.
  • Allow staff to develop personally and make the most of their own abilities within the framework of Lalandia’s development plans.
  • Have satisfied and committed employees, who get involved at Lalandia both during work and leisure.
  • Have open and direct dialogue.
  • Have job satisfaction – it should be fun to go to work.

That our managers:

  • In their daily work, show independence as well as the ability and desire to motivate, develop and train their employees.

Staff appraisals

As part of the basis for assessing whether the employee policy is complied with and ensuring improvement initiatives in the HR field are carried out, we hold annual staff appraisals as well as regular employee satisfaction surveys. This is followed up with action plans, so there is an active focus on results and improvement.

The host’s best hosts

We are all hosts to our guests

As an employee of Lalandia, you will have 400-500 colleagues. All employees work to be good hosts and give our guests unforgettable experiences to take home from their stay at Lalandia. We have many employees in job functions involving direct contact with customers. But we also have many employees ”behind the scenes”, and we usually say ”if you are not in the process of helping a guest, then you are probably in the process of helping an employee who is helping a guest”.

So no matter what job you have, there is a great deal of focus on being a host at Lalandia, and it should be just as natural for a cleaner and a chef to smile, be helpful and show interest in the guests, as it should be for a waiter and a receptionist. We want all employees, regardless of job function, to act in accordance with the following sentence: ”The employee closest to the guest at any given time is the host”.

An atmosphere marked by joy

Our major focus on being good hosts and giving our guests great experiences is also something that affects the mood among employees. Because making other people happy makes us all happy. At the same time, it is worth noting that our guests come here on holiday, on weekend stays, etc., so it is something that customers have been looking forward to and value. So the joy that our guests arrive with is also something that rubs off on our employees.

It is always worthwhile

A job at Lalandia can be demanding at times, and you can be very busy, but at the same time it is fun and varied. When you do whatever you can to make a guest happy, you get so much back from guests both young and old, it is always worthwhile!

Staff benefits

We offer various staff benefits at Lalandia. This includes free admission to the Aquadome and great discounts in the shops.

It is possible to exercise in the fitness centre and participate in celebrations throughout the year, and of course you also have a great group of colleagues.

Smiley scheme

All shops and restaurants at Lalandia have been awarded a happy smiley by the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. We are proud of the results and are naturally working hard to maintain our position.

The smiley scheme means, for our guests and employees, that we strictly follow the established rules and guidelines for food control in Denmark.
